Marc A. Citron

Marc Citron counsels a broad range of commercial enterprises on real estate deals and other business transactions that are key to their growth and evolution. During his more than 45 years of legal practice, Marc has advised clients ranging from real estate developers, retailers and the hospitality sector to manufacturers and software developers on commercial and industrial projects, including those involving redevelopment and brownfields. He helps them navigate these projects from the earliest stages, including land acquisition, government permitting and approvals, and financing, through to development, leasing, and operation.

Because Marc has closed so many deals over the years, he has deep experience as a negotiator and perspective on the many options for structuring deals. He also has developed an appreciation for the need to provide practical, business-oriented solutions to his clients’ legal challenges based on his own experience as managing partner of the firm's Princeton, NJ office.

Real estate and land use experience

Marc’s experience as a real estate attorney spans from acquisition and sales to financing and leasing. He also represents national, regional, and local developers before municipal, county and state agencies with respect to obtaining permits and approvals required for the acquisition, financing and development of commercial and industrial properties including redevelopment and brownfield sites.

Business transactions

Marc represents businesses in joint ventures, entity formation and financing deals needed to support their growth and operation. He is sensitive to the needs of lenders and their pain points from his years of experience negotiating with them, and this knowledge informs his legal advice related to transactions.

Hospitality industry experience

Marc has extensive experience in the hospitality industry, representing numerous clients throughout the United States in connection with the sale, purchase, financing and related tax-free exchange transactions of hotels. He has been able to draw upon his industry experience in negotiating favorable franchise licenses, restaurant leases, and management agreements.
