Health Care Reform Webcast: What Employers Need to Know NOW
June 12, 2013

The Affordable Care Act is changing how employers provide health insurance and more mandates are on the way in 2014, including a 90-day maximum waiting period on offering health coverage, elimination of annual coverage limits and pre-existing condition exclusions. Presented by the Association of Corporate Counsel’s New to In-House Committee and sponsored by Saul Ewing, this webcast will feature two employee benefits attorneys from the firm, Sarah Lockwood Church, who will moderate, and Kevin A. Wiggins, who will speak along with Sally C. Richards, assistant general counsel for Avon Products.

The webcast will help you learn what you need to know NOW to develop your health care compliance strategy. If you are considering not providing coverage (or your coverage is inadequate), the presentation will help you assess your risks for penalties under the “pay or play” provision and offer practical advice for managing that risk. Other topics will include:

  • Deadlines for tracking the insurance eligibility of employees who do not work fixed hours
  • Collective bargaining agreements and the ACA
  • Worker classification/independent contractor issues and the ACA
  • Attorney/client privilege and your interactions with brokers and consultants

This webcast will take place from Noon – 4:00 p.m. (GMT). For more information, including cost and registration details, click here.
