Montgomery County Emerging Companies Roundtable Discussion, November 20, 2014
Hiring and Incentivizing Employees and Consultants
November 20, 2014

Consultants vs. employees. Stock vs. stock options vs. phantom stock vs. restricted stock. Salaries and bonuses and long-term incentives. It can all be a little overwhelming. Our panel of experts has been where you are. We invite you to attend this Roundtable to learn how other emerging companies handle complex compensation matters.

Facilitators for this discussion will be the following thought leaders:

  • Robert L. Duston, a Partner in Saul Ewing’s Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Practice. Rob has 30 years of experience counseling managements on employment law.
  • Michael Heller, Founder and Managing Principal, Pillar One Consulting. Michael has 15+ years of experience in strategic human resources, talent management and technology consulting.
  • Sophia MacDonald, Senior Director of Human Resources for Cvent, the world's largest meeting and event management technology company. In 2014, Cvent was named one of the “Best Places to Work in Greater Washington” by the Washington Post and the Washington Business Journal

The Roundtable Discussion will be held at the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research located at 9600 Gudelsky Drive, Rockville, MD, and is sponsored by The BioMaryland Center and the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research. The Roundtable sessions will occur from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., with follow-up discussion and networking to continue until 10 a.m. A light breakfast will be provided.
