Same-Sex Marriages: How Recent Developments Impact Employers
December 3, 2013

Catherine E. Walters and Sarah “Sally” Church, both members of Saul Ewing’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice, are panelists for this webinar about how the U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down the Defense of Marriage Act’s “opposite sex” requirement for “marriage” and “spouse” impacts employers and employee benefit plans. They will discuss DOMA and how the ruling in Windsor v. U.S. changed this law, as well as review guidance issued by federal agencies on the subject and apparent conflicts in such guidance. Some of the other topics they will cover include:

  • IRS tax guidance
  • EBSA guidance for ERISA plans
  • FMLA
  • Retroactivity

The 95-minute webinar will begin at 2:00 p.m. EST. Presented by LexisNexis, the webinar is free and CLE accredited.
