Attorneys participate in panel discussion at the 246th ACS National Meeting
Business of Science: How to turn your scientific skill set into a successful business enterprise

Gianna J. Arnold, partner and co-chair of the Intellectual Property & Technology Practice, and Jacqueline Allen and Rajesh Nair, Ph.D., associates in the Intellectual Property & Technology Practice, participated in this presentation on the business of science at the annual meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS).

Ms. Arnold served as moderator of the discussion, and Ms. Allen and Mr. Nair were two of the four panelists. The session covered what to avoid on the path toward business success and provided an overview on creating a technology-based company. The discussion also touched on the elements of an organizational structure, various forms of intellectual property and their use as strategic business assets, roles an expert can fill as a consultant to an early stage company and key considerations in agreements, technology transfer, industry collaboration.

The ACS meeting took place from September 8-12 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
