Lutz presents at Mental Health Association of Maryland Legislative Reception and Briefing
Randy Lutz, a partner in Saul Ewing’s Energy, Environment and Utilities Practice and vice president for government affairs for the Mental Health Association of Maryland, will be a presenter at the MHAMD Legislative Reception and Briefing on February 12, 2015 in Annapolis, Maryland. Randy will touch on parity issues related to insurance coverage for mental health services and introduce Maryland legislators and cabinet officials who are working on mental health issues.
The briefing – which is expected to draw 350 people in organizations that support mental health in Maryland – is one of the largest legislative events during the General Assembly’s 90-day session. Held at Loews Annapolis, the event will also feature Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin as the keynote speaker and honor three mental health champions.
Goodwin and the champions will join with past MHAMD honorees in ringing the Mental Health Bell in honor of the organization’s 100th anniversary. The 300-pound bell is made of chains and shackles discarded in the 1950s by asylums following a call from Mental Health America.
Randy is the past president and a lifetime board member of MHAMD.
