Two partners to present at NACUA Virtual Seminar
Bruce D. Armon and James A. Keller, partners in the Health Practice and Higher Education Practice, respectively, will serve on a three-person panel that will cover the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights’ January final rule implementing many provisions of the HITECH Act amendments to HIPAA included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The final rule includes amendments to the HIPAA Privacy, Security, Enforcement and Breach Notification Rules.
Although the final rule is effective March 26, 2013, most covered entities and business associates will have until September 23, 2013 to comply with its provisions. In this virtual seminar, designed for those with experience with and a working knowledge of HIPAA, our panel will review the most important changes and compliance obligations contained in the final rule, and describe the steps institutions need to take to achieve compliance by September 23.
The seminar will take place from Noon to 2 p.m. (ET). For more information, or to register for the conference, please click here.
