Schuylkill Yards

Saul Ewing was selected to serve as counsel to Drexel University in the development of Schuylkill Yards, a five million square foot mixed use urban destination designed to promote innovation, research, cooperative education, technological advancement, inclusive growth and civic engagement. Over the past 20 years, Drexel acquired over ten acres of contiguous land adjacent to its campus and immediately to the west of 30th Street Station, Philadelphia’s main train station.  Saul Ewing represented Drexel in the negotiation of a master development agreement to develop the land into offices, conference centers, classrooms, laboratories, retail, hospitality, cultural destinations, residential, iconic public spaces and other facilities incidental to or supportive of Drexel’s educational mission and values, with the goal of attracting a diverse, world-class community of students, faculty, entrepreneurs and industry-leading firms to advance innovation and leverage the rich educational resources of University City.
