Arnstein & Lehr serves as host firm during the International Lawyers Network's annual meeting held in Chicago

Arnstein & Lehr served as the host law firm for the International Lawyers Network’s (ILN) 26th Annual Meeting held at the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago May 22-25. The weekend’s activities were planned under the direction and guidance of Chicago Partner Howard J. Swibel and Miami Partner Jeffrey B. Shapiro who also serve as the firm’s longstanding ILN contacts and were hosts for the weekend.

To kick-off the annual meeting, the firm welcomed 25 members of ILN’s Asia Pacific Group to our Chicago Conference Room where the group hosted its breakout session, Thursday morning, May 22. During the primary ILN meeting, Miami Partner Ronald R. Fieldstone spoke to the delegates twice. On Friday he addressed EB-5 Capital Raising and Citizenship. On Saturday he spoke on EB-5 investments and entrepreneur visas. On Saturday Chicago Partner Robert E. McKenzie spoke on secret off-shore bank accounts both during the morning session and during the Litigation Breakout session. Chicago Partner Michael L. Gesas also served as a panelist on corporations dealing with distressed debt. Other sessions included an address by Senator Dick Durban, assistant majority leader of the U.S. Senate and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Also speaking was William M. Daley, former Secretary of Commerce for President Bill Clinton and Chief of Staff for President Barack Obama. Aaron David Miller, former advisor to Presidents Bush and Clinton on conflict and diplomacy, spoke on America’s role on the world stage. More than 80 delegates and spouses representing ILN member firms from all over the world participated in the weekend’s activities that included a visit to the Driehaus Museum, an architectural river cruise, and a gala dinner at The Art Institute of Chicago’s Stock Exchange Room. Chicago partner’s serving as additional hosts included Dino Armiros, Bruce Balonick, Paul Diamond, Mark Enright, Mark Miller, Jay Tarshis, and Justin Weisberg.Click here to view photos from the weekend events.
