Arnstein Partner Featured in Law360 on High Court Eminent Domain Case Regulations
On January 25, Fort Lauderdale partner Keith Poliakoff was featured in the Law360 article, “High Court Eminent Domain Case May Offer States Clarity.” Mr. Poliakoff provided commentary on the high court’s decision to hear an eminent domain case regarding a family-government dispute concerning adjacent Wisconsin properties as rulings vary from state to state. According to Mr. Poliakoff, “It was probably that the Supreme Court wanted to settle the law in the area. So many of the different states have different statutes. It will really shed some light finally on municipality takings, government takings.” He explains that in Florida statutes often favor property owners in regards to takings cases while other states typically favor the government.
