Eidelman Comments on Importance of Technology in Law Firms

"Stipends, Blackberries are Standard Issue for Local Firms", Baltimore Business Journal

Gary B. Eidelman, a Partner in the Business Department and Vice Office Managing Partner of the Baltimore office, comments in this article on the role technology plays in law firms.

At Saul Ewing, each attorney receives a $500 stipend every two years to use for technology expenses. Attorneys also receive monthly allowances for BlackBerry data plans and cell phone services. Saul Ewing's other technology services include videoconferencing, flat-screen TVs in the office lobby, and messaging capabilities that allow lawyers to check voicemail messages through their e-mail program.

"Clearly, when you walk into a Saul office, we like to think our technology speaks for itself," Mr. Eidelman said.
