Forsten elected chairman of Everett Theatre
Richard A. Forsten, a real estate partner in the Wilmington office, has been elected Chairman of the Board of the Everett Theatre. The “Everett,” as it is known, is Middletown, Delaware’s restored opera/movie house (named for its original builder), and also includes an adjacent arts center.
The community is proud of the Everett’s spot on the national Register of Historic Places. After the ceiling collapsed in March 2008, the doors closed and fundraising began for renovations. On May 8, 2009, the Everett’s doors opened again. Forsten was named to the Board in January 2013 and elected Chairman in May 2013.
Today, the building is strong and, again, is the center for performing arts and artistic” happenings” in the Middletown, Odessa and Townsend area. People come for all over the region to events at this vibrant place. The Everett is owned and operated by the nonprofit group called The Everett Inc.
