Charles Kelly, co-managing partner of Saul Ewing’s Pittsburgh office, was quoted in The Legal Intelligencer about the opportunities resulting from the firm’s growth in Pittsburgh. The article explains that despite previous declines in energy work, the legal community is thriving and out-of-town firms are benefitting due to new matters in health care, technology, finance and even energy.

“The firm's energy ties in Philadelphia and Harrisburg have resulted in clients using the Pittsburgh office when energy-related litigation is filed in western Pennsylvania or West Virginia,” Kelly said in the article. The firm would not have been awarded this work without a Pittsburgh location, he added.

The article also notes the firm’s growth in that city, from three to 20 attorneys since opening a Pittsburgh location in 2012, and shares a glimpse of the firm’s positive outlook for its future in Pittsburgh.

“Saul Ewing has added depth in Pittsburgh in technology and startups, bringing on lawyers with drone law experience and those representing entrepreneurs coming out of Pittsburgh's tech sector,” Kelly said. “The firm is still looking to add health care regulatory attorneys in the city and additional energy attorneys given the expectation the energy sector will rebound.”
