Amy Kline, a partner in Saul Ewing’s Litigation Practice, is mentioned in this article about a recent judgment in a breach of contract case for client QVC.

As reported by The Legal Intelligencer, QVC sought to prove it met the applicable requirements under applicable Illinois law to pierce the corporate veil in order to resolve a dispute over the televised shopping network’s failure to receive a refund for returned merchandise.

According to the article, the judge in the case in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled in QVC’s favor and ordered the parent company to one of QVC’s product suppliers to pay $308,000 – which includes a refund for the returned products plus interest and attorney fees. The case was on remand from the Third Circuit but decided under Illinois state law since that is where the product supplier is based.
