Levin’s election to Managing Partner covered by The Legal Intelligencer
This article reports on Barry F. Levin’s election to Managing Partner of the firm, effective January 21, 2014.
Levin, who chairs the Business and Finance Department, was selected by partnership consensus in March. He will succeed current Managing Partner David S. Antzis, who is in the last year of his second four-year term. Under firm policy, a Managing Partner can serve a maximum of two four-year terms.
While Antzis is looking forward to devoting more time to his M&A and business practice, Levin will hand over some of his business and finance practice to firm attorneys. He will also step down as co-chair of the Dental Practice Transitions Practice and chair of the Family Business Practice.
Levin, who joined Saul Ewing’s Baltimore office in 2003, is the first attorney to lead the firm who is not based in Philadelphia. “I think it’s a positive thing for our firm to show that we don’t really have a headquarters,” Antzis said.
