Barry F. Levin, a Saul Ewing Baltimore attorney and the firm’s Managing Partner-Elect, was featured in a Daily Recordarticle about his new role and the approach he plans to take in managing the firm. Barry is the first attorney outside Saul Ewing’s Philadelphia base to be named managing partner, succeeding David S. Antzis who held the position for eight years.

Among Barry’s top goals is firm expansion, including internal expansion and growing the firm’s geographic footprint. He calls it, “smart growth, which will be, by and large, more industry-focused or geographically focused.” As for the biggest challenge facing the firm, it’s the same biggest challenge facing the legal industry – rates. He said, “What has to happen is you have to have a relationship and you have to have a collaboration and you have to have a level of trust. Get everyone what they need and some of what they want.”

Barry’s role takes effect on January 21, 2014.
