St. John quoted in Baltimore Sun on bill to restrict cellular phone towers
"Baltimore County Council again considers cell tower restrictions", The Baltimore Sun
Jason M. St. John, a partner in the Litigation Department and member of the Telecommunications practice, was quoted in this story discussing Republican Councilman McIntire’s bill that would severely restrict the number and appearance of cellular phone towers in the rural, northern section of Baltimore County. If passed, the bill would permit towers only by special exception and prohibit them from projecting above prominent ridges or hilltops.
Mr. St. John said, “What this bill will do, in these areas where we want to protect the scenic viewshed, is it will create an increase in the number of towers. Height means everything in these installations. The higher you are, the better coverage area that a carrier can have.”
