Arnstein & Lehr LLP Expands Practice with Three Lateral Partners

The national law firm of Arnstein & Lehr LLP adds three lateral partners - two in the Chicago office and one in Fort Lauderdale - expanding the depth of its Litigation Practice.

“We feel quite fortunate that Sandra, Alan and Daniel have agreed to join us,” said Jeffrey Shapiro, Chairman of Arnstein & Lehr’s Executive Committee and Managing Partner of the firm’s Florida offices. “These attorneys bring experience, knowledge and creative thinking to the Litigation Practice and will be a great asset to our firm and its clients.”

Sandra A. Franco joins the firm’s Chicago office as a partner in the Litigation and Banks and Financial Institutions Practice Groups. She concentrates her practice in commercial litigation, banking law, and real estate law. Ms. Franco represents financial institutions and has extensive experience in secured transactions, collections, bankruptcy, commercial foreclosures, negotiating and drafting contracts. Additionally, she is a volunteer attorney with Minority Legal Education Resources, Inc. where she tutors and prepares prospective attorneys for the Illinois Bar Exam. She is fluent in Spanish. Ms. Franco earned her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2005 and her B.A. in 2000 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Alan R. Poppe joins Arnstein & Lehr’s Fort Lauderdale office as a partner. His practice focuses on complex commercial and tort litigation, with an emphasis on civil fraud, intellectual property and unfair trade practices claims, business torts, franchise litigation, products liability and class action litigation. Mr. Poppe is a trusted advisor to a wide range of clients, both large and small, helping them to resolve their business disputes, including counsel on litigation avoidance and risk management. Prior to joining the firm, he held positions with several multinational law firms. He earned his J.D. in 1999 from University of Miami School of Law and his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1988.

Daniel J. Struck joins as a partner in the Insurance and Litigation Practice Groups in Arnstein & Lehr’s Chicago office. Mr. Struck advocates on behalf of corporate and individual insurance policyholders throughout the United States. He has represented clients in insurance coverage litigation and advocated on behalf of insureds in contested claims across the country. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced at several prominent regional and global law firms representing policyholders. He began his career serving as an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the New York City Law Department and subsequently served as a law clerk for a judge in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois before entering private practice. Mr. Struck earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1993 and his B.A. from University of Dallas in 1988.
