Boehlert named to Board for ACE Mentor Program in DC
Garry R. Boehlert, co-chair of the Construction Practice, has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors for the ACE Mentor Program of the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area (“ACE DC”).
ACE is an acronym for architecture, construction, and engineering. The nonprofit ACE Mentor Program of DC/MD/VA exposes high school students to career opportunities in these fields through mentoring and awarding scholarships. The program hopes to reach students of all demographics, especially those underrepresented in the industry.
“As a resident of the District, ACE DC provides me a platform to give back to the city and industry I so much enjoy. To help steer students into these challenging professions is very exciting to me. I am honored to be asked to join ACE DC’s Board,” Garry said.
Garry focuses his practice on resolving claims and disputes arising from significant infrastructure projects. He regularly assists owners, contractors, sureties, specialty subcontractors and engineering/design firms with the drafting, review and negotiation of contracts and the evaluation, negotiation and litigation of claims. Prior to entering law, Garry worked on major construction projects such as the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and bridge construction on an interstate highway.
