Saul Ewing Further Strengthens Washington, D.C. Corporate Transactional Practice with the Addition of Michael A. Gold

Saul Ewing LLP, a full-service law firm with more than 270 lawyers in 11 East Coast offices, today announced that Michael A. Gold has joined the firm as a partner in the Venture Capital/Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions Practices. He will be resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

For more than 20 years, Mr. Gold has helped clients in a wide variety of industries with stock and asset acquisitions, mergers, joint venture arrangements and public and private offerings. He also advises companies, boards of directors and outside shareholders regarding corporate governance practices, proxy solicitations, tender offers and federal securities issues.

Mr. Gold has extensive experience with private equity, hedge fund and venture finance transactions, representing both investors and issuers. He has advised emerging-growth companies on organization, venture finance, employee and technology issues. He also counsels clients with regard to such securities regulatory matters as delisting procedures, SEC no-action requests, securities law violations and internal control concerns. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Gold was a financial analyst for Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York City, specializing in mortgage finance.

Prior to joining Saul Ewing, Mr. Gold was a Partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Baker Botts.

Mr. Gold earned his law degree, with honors, from University of Chicago Law School, and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
