Saul Ewing Partner Joel R. Burcat Appointed to PBI Board of Directors
Saul Ewing LLP, a full service law firm with more than 265 lawyers in 11 East Coast offices, today announced that Joel R. Burcat, a partner in the Environment and Oil and Gas practices, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He will serve a three-year term.
PBI, a fully self-supporting nonprofit organization, is the continuing legal education arm of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Its Board of Directors has the principal responsibility for the fulfillment of PBI’s mission and accountability for its operations. Members provide governance, embrace PBI’s CLE mission, represent PBI in the legal community, and accept ultimate legal responsibility for the organization’s activities.
At Saul Ewing, Mr. Burcat’s principal areas of practice are environmental law, oil and gas law, natural resources law and environmental litigation. His clients include owners of natural resources (particularly coal, non-coal minerals, and oil and gas), pipeline companies, large and small industrial operations, owners and operators of petroleum facilities, municipal authorities, defendants in toxic tort cases, trade associations and companies in the waste industry.
Mr. Burcat earned his J.D. from Vermont Law School, and his B.S. from Pennsylvania State University, cum laude.
