Saul Ewing Partner Richard A. Forsten Elected President of the Delaware State Bar Association
Saul Ewing LLP, a full service law firm with more than 270 lawyers in 11 East Coast offices, announced today that Richard A. Forsten, a partner in the firm’s Wilmington, Delaware office, has been elected president of the Delaware State Bar Association ("DSBA") for 2015-2016.
Founded in 1923, the DSBA provides continuing education, networking opportunities and a framework for proper standards for its members. Forsten will assume his new role on July 1, 2015 following the passing of the gavel during the DSBA’s annual Bench and Bar Conference on May 15, 2015 in Wilmington. In a brief acceptance speech, Forsten said that he wanted to get more bar members involved with the DSBA, and to focus on funding issues facing the judiciary.
In a bar that is highly regarded for its civility and camaraderie, Forsten is well-known for his land use and commercial real estate practice, with a focus on economic development projects, as well as his administrative law and litigation practices.
A believer in public service, Forsten serves as vice-president of the Appoquinimink School District School Board, as chairman of Middletown’s historic Everett Theatre, and as a board member of Goodwill of Delaware, and the Delaware Homebuilders’ Association. He also serves on the Delaware Supreme Court Rules Committee, the Delaware Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission, and the Advisory Council of the Fort DuPont Redevelopment and Preservation Committee.
