Pennsylvania Renews Focus on Pay Equality in the Workplace

The article explains the implications of Pennsylvania Senate Bill 241, which seeks to amend the state’s Equal Pay Law. Emily explains that the bill prohibits employers from retaliating against employees who file complaints under the Equal Pay Law and inquire about their wages and the wages of their colleagues. The bill also includes a preemption provision that some people view as an end-run around a new Philadelphia ordinance prohibiting employers from inquiring about applicant’s prior salary.
