Counsel

Antoinette Theodossakos counsels corporations, entrepreneurs and non-profit institutions on a broad range of labor and employment issues. She also handles many other types of commercial disputes, particularly those involving the food and beverage and financial services industries.

Clients rely on Antoinette to help them weigh the legal issues involved in matters ranging from employment termination and wage and hour disputes to claims involving sexual harassment and disability discrimination, including alleged violations of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). She also provides advice on disputes involving family and medical leaves, as well as investigations into allegations of racial and gender bias. Her litigation experience includes representations in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration and before administrative agencies, including the Florida Commission on Human Relations and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. 

Antoinette is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit 

Experience

  • In a case involving a claim of discriminatory housing practice, Antoinette persuaded the Florida Commission on Human Relations that a financial institution did not engage in such a practice and the charge was dismissed. 
  • In two cases involving claims of housing discrimination and retaliation, Antoinette successfully argued in front of the local Office of Equal Opportunity that no housing discrimination or retaliation occurred and the charges were dismissed. 
  • In a federal case involving age discrimination, Antoinette successfully defended a local police department and city. 
  • In two cases involving claims of sexual harassment and sexual discrimination, Antoinette successfully defended a tourism information company and national education verification company. In a case involving a claim of race discrimination, Antoinette successfully defended at trial a national pharmaceutical company. 
  • In numerous cases involving the Fair Labor Standards Act, Antoinette successfully defended a national securities brokerage firm.
