Erik J. VanderWeyden focuses his practice on real estate taxation and he represents a wide-variety of clients in property tax objections.
Prior to joining the firm, Erik represented small businesses and individuals in tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service. His experience also includes clerking for the Michigan Tax Tribunal. As a clerk, his responsibilities included researching and drafting multiple final opinions and judgments concerning various property tax issues as well as answering various court motions.
While in law school, Erik was an active member of the MSU College of Law Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. As a clinician, he represented indigent taxpayers to settle various disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and the Michigan Department of Treasury.
