Melissa A. Martinez
Melissa Martinez is a member of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice in the firm’s Philadelphia office. She focuses her practice on a broad range of commercial bankruptcy, workout and restructuring matters in which she represents a variety of parties, including debtors, creditors’ committees, trustees, unsecured creditors, landlords and contract parties.
Melissa brings an understanding of the intersection of legal and business issues to her practice from her educational background. She holds both a J.D. from the Rutgers School of Law and a master’s degree in business administration from the Rutgers School of Business. While earning her dual degrees, she was a summer associate at Saul Ewing and an intern in the in-house legal department for a Fortune 100 energy company. Her work for the law firm included matters relating to bankruptcy, mortgage lending, higher education, and probate. At the energy company, she gained experience with issues involving non-disclosure agreements, hiring practices, trademarks, litigation before an administrative law judge, and a matter involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
In addition, Melissa was an extern for the Honorable Richard Hoffman in the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court and an intern for the Honorable Lee Solomon in New Jersey Superior Court.
