Evan J. Foster, Vice Chair of Saul Ewing’s Technology and Manufacturing Practice, is a Philadelphia Business Journal 2016 Corporate Counsel Award recipient.
The Corporate Counsel Awards recognize the contributions of corporate attorneys who play key roles in the success of their companies. Winners were recognized at an awards program on Thursday, September 8 and were profiled in a special issue of the Philadelphia Business Journal the following day.
Mr. Foster was the only honoree this year to work at a private law firm. His nominator stated, “While not an employee of our firm, Evan Foster has been available on demand, and worked as an integral part of our team in every way. More importantly, he has guided us through a diverse set of legal landscapes as we grew from a small entrepreneurial venture to an institutionally funded growth company.” Mr. Foster has previously been recognized for his outstanding client service in the BTI Client Service All-Star Report, which named him to its list of 25 “Intellectual Property All-Stars.”
Mr. Foster concentrates his practice in technology transactions, systems acquisition, intellectual property development and ancillary services, representing both customers and vendors in the healthcare, life sciences, financial, and manufacturing industries. In this role, he advises clients on legal issues relating to the Internet and e-commerce, including drafting and negotiating cloud computing and software-as-a-service agreements, and provides counseling on data security, privacy, and general intellectual property matters. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law, and his undergraduate degree from Tulane University.
